What inspired you to try yoga?
In October 2002 my grandmother passed away. We were very close and her passing took its toll. I needed to get out of my head and the hospital that she passed away at was offering a yoga class. So I Gave it a shot and it helped with my grieving process. I continued with yoga: during my pregnancy with my second child, with Kathy at in shape. Then fell in love with Holly’s classes and was introduced to Vinyasa and power yoga. I eventually followed Holly to Flow which has been a fantastic experience for me!
How has your yoga practice affected your overall well-being?
Yoga has benefited my overall well-being by providing me the space to be a little bit more playful. Not feeling I need to be in control all the time, let go, get out of my head, and try new things. By trusting myself and gaining confidence in my practice on the mat has generalized to off the mat too.
What are your yoga goals?
Goals of most classes for me are to be active, get a good sweat on, being grounded and present. Leaving the outside world off my mat. A more specific goal for me is that dang handstand!
What do you love about Flow Yoga + Wellness Studio that you didn’t expect?
I LOVE the Flow community. From the staff, to the Students, the feeling of peace, love, and community when I walk through those doors.

What is something you’ve learned about yourself through your yoga practice?
I’ve learned it’s okay to not be so serious. Okay to wobble or step out of a pose. How to give myself grace and laugh at myself. Listening to and caring for all parts of my body.
What is your favorite pose?
Favorite pose? That’s a hard one… so many. But right now I’m loving headstand. It was a goal for so long then during COVID Shutdown and home practice I popped up and bam it all came together. Again coming back to trusting myself, giving myself grace when it’s not there.
What would you like to see more of at Flow?
I think Flow provides everything I need. I love the strength classes that Candy provides (even though I roll my eyes through. every. single. exercise. ) I love the crazy and fun challenges in Kim’s classes, the patience and support from Tanon in the journey to inversions classes and the book club meetings that she leads, and Maria’s challenging Saturday morning classes. I’m hooked and so thankful Flow has been a part of my life
